Dancers Gaze is an experimental nonlinear live action and 3D short performance film highlighting women and femmes in culturally “hypersexualised” dance styles, it explores the seemingly linked but blurred boundaries between female sexual agency and the male gaze.
The world still views femininity and female sexuality with judgment, even though it continuously consumes, commodifies, and profits from the female body. Dancer’s Gaze invites audiences to reflect on their role as spectators and participants of this culture, examining the way women, even those who are not dancers, are still expected to perform as blank canvases to be projected upon.
