Invisible Debt

“Invisible Debt” is a digital art project that explores the hidden environmental costs and social inequalities of global supply chains, shaped by the structure of carbon colonialism. Wealthy nations outsource pollution and waste to the Global South, while benefiting from low-cost production and environmental invisibility, in the case of the textile industry in Bangladesh and plastic waste in Indonesia, revealing the environmental inequalities across the global supply chain.

Together, these stories investigate: How does the Wealthy nations externalize environmental costs to the Global South? What is the unseen price paid by communities far removed from consumption centers?
