This project explores how algorithmic recommendation systems shape digital self-perception. Our research question is: To what extent do these systems reflect our self-identified preferences, and how does that alignment or misalignment influence our understanding of identity within digital spaces? Treating algorithms as intimate, influential forces, the project highlights how personalised feeds observe, predict, and reinforce behaviours, shaping how we see ourselves and how we are seen. Aimed at young digital users, designers, and researchers, it uses visual storytelling to examine how personal data becomes narrative, raising questions of authorship, automation, and identity.
