Blue Glass

Blue Glass is a 3D video work reflecting on the blue-glass buildings that emerged in China around the 2000s. Once symbols of a futuristic dream, they now reveal the cracks of disillusionment. The work explores how these structures shaped the childhood imagination of Gen Z and what remains after the dream fades.

Yifan Tang

Yifan Tang  is a multimedia artist and designer whose practice explores memory, perception, and the posthuman condition through immersive installations, video art, and interactive technologies. With a strong focus on Gen Z identity in the context of contemporary China, his works investigate the impact of AI, media, and urbanization on collective memory and subjective experience. From real-time brainwave-driven installations (Irrational Translator) to nostalgic dreamcore VR games (Echo Spy) and speculative architecture-based animations (Blue Glass), Yifan bridges critical theory with emotional storytelling. He draws inspiration from phenomenology, cyber aesthetics, and sociopolitical realities, crafting sensory spaces that question the boundaries between truth, simulation, and remembrance.
